The market assesses a 19% probability that Beijing's highest temperature on June 27, 2026, will reach 36°C based on historical climate data and seasonal trends. The low probability reflects the rarity of such extreme temperatures in late June for the region.
A persistent high-pressure system, coupled with urban heat island effects and potential climate anomalies, could drive temperatures to 36°C. Earlier heatwaves in June (e.g., 2023's 41°C) suggest increasing frequency of extreme heat events.
Historical data indicates Beijing's late June highs typically range between 30-34°C, with 36°C being an outlier. Persistent cloud cover, monsoon influences, or cooler-than-average conditions would suppress temperatures below this threshold.
