The market indicates a very low probability (0.70%) that Milan's highest temperature on June 29, 2026, will reach 42°C based on historical temperature trends and current climate patterns. The resolution depends on real-time data from Wunderground's Malpensa station.
A bullish scenario could emerge if an extreme heatwave develops in late June 2026, driven by a strong high-pressure system over Europe or a Saharan air intrusion. Climate change trends may slightly increase the likelihood of such extreme temperatures compared to historical averages.
The bear case assumes standard late-June temperatures for Milan, which historically average around 25-30°C. Even in heatwave conditions, 42°C is an outlier, with the city's all-time record being 39.9°C (August 2021). No immediate climate anomalies suggest such an extreme event.
