This market will resolve according to the median home value for all property types in the Washington, D.C. Metro area on September 30, 2026. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. The resolution source will be official data from the Parcl Labs Sales Price Index for the Washington, D.C. Metro area (Parcl_ID: 2900475). The settlement price will be calculated by multiplying the published price index value (price per square foot) by 1800 square feet, which is the median home size in the Washington, D.C. Metro area. Parcl is set to publish this data on September 30, 2026. If no data for September 30 is released by October 10, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve according to the most recently published data. Crowd-implied vs ORYN AI fair value over time, with decision markers
The market suggests a 43.5% probability that the median home value in the DC Metro will fall between $530,000 and $536,000 on September 30, 2026, based on Parcl Labs Sales Price Index data. This implies moderate skepticism toward a significant price surge or decline in the near term.
A sustained low interest rate environment, continued high demand from remote workers, and limited housing supply in the DC Metro could push prices toward the upper end of the range ($536,000). Federal government employment stability and infrastructure investments (e.g., Metro expansion) may further support demand.
Rising mortgage rates, a potential recession, or increased housing inventory could suppress prices below $530,000. Geopolitical tensions or federal spending cuts (impacting government jobs) might also dampen buyer confidence and price growth.
