The prediction market for the 1st 5 Innings Spread (Seattle Mariners -1.5) shows an extremely low probability (0.05%) of the Mariners leading by 2+ runs after 5 innings. This suggests strong market confidence in the Guardians' early-game dominance or a high likelihood of a close game.
The Mariners' offensive strength (e.g., Julio Rodriguez, Cal Raleigh) or pitching (e.g., Logan Gilbert) could overperform in the first 5 innings, leading to a 2+ run lead. Cleveland's bullpen struggles or early defensive errors may also favor Seattle.
Cleveland's lineup (e.g., Steven Kwan, José Ramírez) or bullpen (e.g., Emmanuel Clase) may dominate early, or Seattle's starter could underperform, leading to a Guardians lead or tie after 5 innings. Weather or umpire bias could also disrupt Mariners' momentum.
