The prediction market for the 1st 5 Innings Spread: Chicago White Sox (-1.5) shows a 50% probability, indicating a balanced expectation between the White Sox leading by 2+ runs or the Royals leading/tying after 5 innings. The neutral probability suggests no clear favorite in the early game dynamics.
The White Sox could win by 2+ runs after 5 innings if their strong offensive lineup (e.g., Tim Anderson, José Abreu) capitalizes early, combined with effective pitching from Dylan Cease or others. A favorable matchup against the Royals' weaker starting rotation (e.g., Brady Singer) or bullpen could also tilt the odds in Chicago's favor.
The Royals could avoid a 2+ run deficit after 5 innings if their pitching staff (e.g., Zack Greinke, Andrew Heaney) limits White Sox scoring, while their offense (e.g., Salvador Perez, Whit Merrifield) generates timely runs. Poor White Sox performance in early innings or defensive lapses could also swing the market toward Kansas City.
