The prediction market for the Chicago Cubs (-1.5) in the 1st 5 innings spread has a near-zero probability (0.50%), indicating overwhelming consensus that the Cubs are unlikely to lead by 2+ runs after 5 innings. This suggests strong market confidence in either a Brewers lead or a tight game.
The Cubs could overcome the spread if their starting pitcher performs exceptionally, key batters get early hits, or the Brewers' starting pitcher struggles with control. A strong offensive start or defensive plays in the early innings could shift momentum.
The Cubs are likely to fail to cover the spread due to a poor start, bullpen struggles, or the Brewers' strong offensive lineup capitalizing early. Injuries or unexpected lineup changes could also undermine the Cubs' chances.
