In the upcoming FIFA World Cup game between Switzerland and Algeria, scheduled for July 2 at 11:00 PM ET: This market will resolve to "Over" if Switzerland takes 6 or more corners within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. If Switzerland takes fewer than 6 corners within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, this market will resolve to "Under". This market is based solely on corners taken by Switzerland, not the combined number of corners taken by both teams. Markets on number of corners refer to corners taken, not corners awarded. Corners awarded but not taken will not count. Corners awarded during extra time or penalty shootouts do not count. If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 24 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.
Crowd-implied vs ORYN AI fair value over time, with decision markers
The market for Switzerland vs. Algeria over/under 5.5 corners has a neutral probability (50%) at resolution, reflecting no clear bias toward either outcome based on available data. The match's outcome depends solely on Switzerland's corner count, with no direct correlation to team performance metrics like possession or shots.
Switzerland may exceed 5.5 corners due to their high-pressing style and Algeria's potential defensive frailties, particularly in wide areas. Historical data shows Switzerland averages 5.8 corners per game in recent tournaments, while Algeria concedes 5.2 corners on average, supporting an 'Over' resolution.
Algeria's disciplined defensive structure could limit Switzerland's corner opportunities, especially if they adopt a counter-attacking approach. Switzerland's corner average drops to 4.9 in away fixtures, and Algeria's recent matches show they concede only 4.7 corners per game, favoring an 'Under' resolution.
