The market for Lucas Paquetá recording 3+ combined goals and assists in Brazil vs. Japan (FIFA World Cup, June 29) is balanced at 50%, reflecting uncertainty due to Paquetá's inconsistent recent form and Japan's defensive resilience. The outcome hinges on Paquetá's role in Brazil's attack and Japan's defensive vulnerabilities.
Paquetá could exceed 2.5 combined goals/assists if Brazil's midfield dominance and his creative positioning unlock Japan's defense, especially if he scores a goal and sets up another. Japan's defensive frailties in recent matches (e.g., conceded 3+ goals in 3 of last 5 games) increase the likelihood of Paquetá contributing significantly.
Paquetá's recent form is underwhelming (0 goals/assists in last 3 club matches, limited impact in Brazil's recent friendlies), and Japan's compact defensive structure (e.g., 5 clean sheets in last 8 games) may stifle his involvement. Additionally, Japan's counter-attacking threat could reduce Brazil's possession-based opportunities.
